Our Mission

At Becoming Ruth, we believe that every woman is worthy of being part of a positive and supportive female community. In today’s world, that can be hard to find. Women are often faced with extreme challenges. How should they act? Who should they be? This results in deep insecurities and competition with other women and even a skewed reality of who they are. The unfortunate aspect is that these falsehoods are frequently perpetrated by women who mistakenly think that undermining others will somehow alleviate their own insecurities. In reality, it serves to intensify their own emotional distress, continuing a cycle of self-deception and dishonesty among themselves. It's time to disrupt this cycle and transform into women who, despite their own challenges, uplift and cherish the women around them. This is the mission of Becoming Ruth.

Our Values

Authenticity - Authenticity is about embracing our true selves, fostering trustworthiness and being exactly who we say we are. Being authentic not only brings comfort to others but also nurtures our own sense of belonging and self-worth, allowing us to find peace in our unique identities.

Support - Women often carry immense burdens, yet we sometimes forget to extend a helping hand or seek assistance when needed. At Becoming Ruth, we recognize the importance of helping each other through difficult times and providing unwavering support when needed. Together, we can create a network of solidarity that alleviates the struggles and fosters resilience.

Community - Our strength lies in our sense of fellowship and shared values. A compassionate and nurturing community offers a place where growth thrives, friendships flourish, and lives are enriched. At Becoming Ruth, we embrace the power of community to uplift and empower each other.

Kindness - Small acts of kindness make a difference to people and at Becoming Ruth, we prioritize kindness through friendliness, generosity, and consideration towards one another. By cultivating a culture of kindness, we aim to foster an environment where compassion and empathy flourish.

Self-Worth - True self-worth stems from recognizing our inherent value and embracing our unique abilities. In a world where external validation often dictates our sense of worth, we strive to empower women to reclaim their confidence and dignity from within. At Becoming Ruth, we champion self-affirmation and remind each other of our worthiness, fostering a culture of self-love and acceptance.

These values of authenticity, support, community, kindness, and self-worth are the foundation for our membership. They have become the guiding lights of Becoming Ruth, illuminating a path towards becoming better and kinder women to ourselves and one another.

Our Story

Becoming Ruth’s founder, Anna McClure, has a heart for women. Through her own personal struggles and insecurities and her recognition of other women with the same difficulties, Anna felt the need to find some way to bring women together in support of one another. Anna started Becoming Ruth to turn around the growing trend among women to tear each other down in response to their own insecurities. Anna has spent the last couple of years connecting with like-minded women. Through her own community, Anna has found encouragement and care from women in a way that she has never experienced. These women feel no need to judge or compete but rather provide support and help to one another wherever it is needed. Anna has built a community of kindness, friendship, and love and wants to share that with other women around the world.
